My issue with MR12 is much more fundamental. I just don't feel it's enough rounds to have a satisfying metagame of adaptations and counter-adaptations. Even MR15 was barely enough for me, which is why I usually enjoyed overtime games the most. With the memories of all the times my team figured out the winning formula to come back from 14-10 or similar scorelines, I'm finding it hard to go along with the idea that those extra 6 rounds don't matter all that much. Too many times now I'm losing close games and it just feels so anticlimactic because I know I still had a lot of things in the bag that I wanted to try as a response to what the opponent had been doing. And even when I'm winning, it feels somewhat shallow. At the end of the day, a correct call will always feel more satisfying when it's more informed. I'm disappointed with how handwavy so many people have been regarding a change to such a proven formula. I almost get the impression that some people are afraid to be seen as the old man yelling at trees, and find it easier to just appeal to the new crowd. I'm not even that narrow minded about this. I would totally be okay with them experimenting with the idea before committing to it, by having the beta be exclusively MR12 to force people to try it, and then giving people the option on the full release. And only then collecting the data on what the top players prefer in order to decide what the competitive standard should be. But somehow they just come out like "We've never tried this format in any modern CS game and we haven't figured out if it would make for better games at the top level, but we're making it the new standard so deal with it.", yet they hardly faced any real pushback? Are the community figures being so nice to them in the hopes that they'll start or continue to have some input with the devs? That's a bias that needs to be checked.

Pretty sure he will be Na'vi main awper after S1mple retires. Probably going to join as a second awper, like he always wanted, and then s1mple will eventually retire and then M0nesy will be the main awper. S1mple also joined multiple teams before Na'vi, and i'm pretty sure he wanted to play for his country and then he eventually did. Even though M0nesy is russian, i'm more than sure he sees Na'vi the same way as S1mple does.

I have only watched the first 30 minutes of this interview so far and man, this is so high quality From your side Banks, you're a really good interviewer, you actually have respect for the person talking and letting them finish what they want to say while also being enthusiastic. I respect you man a lot About m0nesy, this kid's amazing. Not only he's so well mannered, thing which I find really impressive, it shows how well his parents and people around him have been, but also how great of a player he is. I became a G2 fan in 2021 when I heard about him joining and I am really happy about that. It's a pleasure to watch this kid play, he not only owns most of the people in the server but also keeps his head level which is really important. Never let the fame dictate you career. Big kudos to his big brother taking care of all the admin stuff for him. I am also really happy to see him lift some well deserved trophies with the boys at G2. I will have to watch the remaining of the interview in the days to come due to time haha but so far I am really impressed with this UPDATE: I finished watching the whole video and boy I got some thoughts: I really like how well mannered he is and humble, like, I genuinely believe that's how he is. I find it so wholesome how he gives credit to everyone whom he had worked with, from the coaches to players. I was also impressed how much he puts focus on the game itself as oppose to the money he can make. Him choosing G2 because of the players around him is really good, it shows how much he values these ideas. I really liked that moment about the baby goat nickname, I thought it was cool from the second you said the first time Mr. Banks. I do believe once he will get even more experience pressure would all but disappear from him, even when it comes to big tournaments. Having won both Cologne and Katowice all while performing well is really impressive. G2 have substance, and while in a bad form at times, they have the quality they need. Thank you James for this interview and for being a really wholesome person yourself :D

Given the fact how big of a superstar he is at the age of 19, he is so humble and grateful to everyone that impacted or still does his progress and success. Electronic once said that the best teammate he got to play with was markelloff and I have reasons to believe when it's all said and done, Ilya will have the same rep: insane awper and teammate as well
